TOD∆Y you are special will be hosting The Select Market, where local independent retailers will be selling a selection of curated items:

A Size Too Small | http://www.facebook.com/asize2small
A Size 2 Small was developed by two friends who shared the same idea of how they wanted kids to dress. That idea was adult styled clothing, sized to fit little ones. The online boutique was carefully curated by the pair. They hand-picked each item, but only items they truly felt they’d have purchased for themselves. These garments include both new and re-discovered vintage garments.

The Hunted Few | http://www.facebook.com/
huntedfew
The Hunted Few is an online shop offering small batch, high quality, handcrafted goods from independent makers. Whether a coveted favorite or carefully curated limited edition offering these items have been hunted and chosen to share with you.

Army of Rokosz | http://www.facebook.com/
armyofrokosz
Army Of Rokosz Jewelry is a gender neutral line of hand fabricated, carved and cast sterling silver jewelry. Each piece is handmade with care and special attention to detail, the processes used leave each piece slightly different from one another. These differences create pieces unique and individual to the wearer. The line is inspired by and reflective of environmental observations and childhood memories, creating pieces that bridge an east van perspective with a suburban adolescence.

Babies & Leopard Print. #footwearfriday

I saw a hashtag on instagram called #whatsinmybag which, in relation to my last post, inspired me to share the contents of my 2 bags as well:

The Diaper Bag

I use the diaper bag as a backup bag. I used to carry it around wherever I went, but it was too bulky and a nuisance to carry around, especially if I had Olivia in a carrier. It’s still super useful when I need extra diapers, extra baby clothing or backup burp cloths and wipes, but I keep this bag in the car.

  • My diaper bag
  • 2 lipbalms (I always lose them, so I carry extra)
  • Pen
  • Diaper Wipes (The Skip Hop Swipes case carries more wipes than the cases that you would normally get with Huggies or Pampers)
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Travel-sized baby body wash
  • Burp cloths
  • Diaper disposal bags (you never know when you’ll have to change yourbaby with no garbage can nearby)
  • Diapers
  • Change Pad
  • Passport to Health (It’s a Canadian thing - the Government gives you a passport to keep track of your baby’s growth, weight & immunizations)
  • Nursing pads (I’ve leaked out of my shirt before, and it’s not pretty)
  • Toque (change to a sun hat in the summertime)
  • Zip up bag to put all the little things in (cloths, pads, passport, etc.)
  • Digital Camera
  • Extra pants & onesie

The Everyday Diaper Bag

For trips to the mall, playdates or any other excursions that only require a few things, I use my everyday diaper bag. This bag allows me to carry what I need (and then some, just in case) without being a nuisance.

image

  • My bag
  • A large makeup case from H&M (to put the diaper necessities in)
  • Diaper wipes travel case
  • Kushies Change Towel (my friend Christina told me about these wonderful things - much thinner than regular change pads and they have a waterproof bottom in case of an accident)
  • 2-3 diapers
  • Lip Balm
  • Baby toy
  • Nursing Cover
  • Wallet
  • Diaper rash balm

When I was pregnant, I asked my friends who already had babies, what they put in their diaper bags and it helped me out alot. I hope this post can help a mom-to-be out there trying to figure out what she should pack in her diaper bag. I’m not an expert by any means, but I will say that it does take some time before you can figure out what you think is important to have in your own bag.

These days, getting ready consists of the wee basics - brush teeth, wash face, moisturize, and GO. If I’m lucky I can get a couple swipes of mascara in; if I’m SUPER lucky, then I can do my whole face!

I get the Glymm box every month and a couple months ago received the Lightning Lash Mascara to try out - I fell in love.

I’m not usually into the plastic mascara brush, but because the “bristles” are super short, they separate and coat my lashes perfectly without clumping - Perfect for my non-existent Asian eyelashes. I was even able to make my bottom lashes stand out more with the wand. You can see the difference for yourself in my before/after pics:
